My name is Katie Derr! I'm a senior broadcast journalism major and marketing minor from a small town called Cortland, Ohio! I started with Straight Up as the Ask Athens reporter as a freshman and now I produce the show! An interesting fact about myself would be that I was my hometown's queen in 2010, Miss Cortland! As cheesy as it sounds, I really do appreciate the phrase "you only live once"! Embrace life and take chances!
My name is Shannon, and I am a sophomore at Ohio University studying Screenwriting and Producing. I have been apart of Straight Up for 2 years now. I started as the Assistant Producer in the fall of my freshman year. I am from Pickerington, Ohio, and I am obsessed with my family, and l love spending time with them--especially while watching Friends, which I am also obsessed with. My favorite quote is, "If it is both terrifying and amazing, then you should definitely pursue it." This quote is great for obvious reasons!
Hey y'all, I'm Krissy, I'm the director of Straight Up! I am from Springboro, Ohio. I am a sophomore studying Integrated Media and I have a passion for editing and directing (which I hope to make a career of one day). I am also obsessed with cats and Mcchickens (which yes, McDonald's will be catering my wedding). I've been apart of the Straight Up crew for 2 years now. "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game" is one of my favorite phrases to live by. Sometimes, you've got to do what makes you happy and not worry about the rest!
Hi Guys! My name is Jeanne Cantwell. I am a sophomore from Columbus,OH studying Broadcast Journalism. I joined Straight Up my first semester here at Ohio University. So this is my fourth season with Straight Up!
A fun fact about me that not many people know is I have a twin brother. He is twenty minutes older than me and is studying film and photography at Columbus College of Art and Design. My favorie quote is from Rob Lowe's character in the 80's film St. Elmo's Fire. He says,
“We're all going through this. It's our time at the edge.”
This quote just gives me chills because it reminds me that everyone goes through hard times, but at the same time, this is the time in our life to live!
My name is Julia Baker and I am a senior here at Ohio University. I'm from a small town in Northeast, Ohio called Louisville and everyone always thinks I'm from Kentucky. My major is journalism and I'm interested in pursuing a career in broadcast television. I have been involved with Straight Up since the end of my sophomore year and it only seems to get better and better! One fun fact about me is that my all-time favorite celebrity is Nicki Minaj and I think I know just about every lyric to all of her songs and mix tapes. My favorite quote to live by is actually from Nicki in her song, "Moment 4 Life." She says, "to live doesn't mean you're alive." I try to remember that every day and always live life to the fullest!
My name is Hilary Grube and I'm a senior journalism major with a specialization in sociology and media. I was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio.
I've been a member of Straight Up since Season 10. Straight Up has not only allowed me to showcase my creativity and meet some seriously talented individuals, but I have grown professionally too.
A fun fact about me is that I won the superlative, "Most Likely to be Famous," in high school because my classmates thought I should try out for a reality show!
One of my favorite quotes is,

I love this quote because Frost addresses the fact that you don't always need to follow the expectations of society. There are many different paths that can lead to success, and I for one, would prefer a more unique route.
